November 2016 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Wonderful Winterland Projects

Packaged in a special edition blue box, Stampin' Up! really delivered with the November Paper Pumpkin kit! I love the winter scene die cuts! Here are a couple projects that I created with the pieces from last month's kit.

The first project is a simple notecard. (I used the Notecards & Envelopes, which are a little bigger than the notecards included in the kit.) I had the die cut window on my desk, so all I had to do was cut down the die cut pieces and layer them under the window. I added Wink of Stella to the white hills.

I purchased empty ornament shells from Oriental Trading for a Girl Scout project, but they weren't exactly as I was expecting, so I decided to dress one up with pieces from the Wonderful Winterland Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit includes small pieces of vellum cardstock, so I cut one down to fit inside the oval ornament. I layered the die cut pieces and added some Mica Flakes before I glued the ornament shut. The white and silver twine at the top is included in the kit!

Here's a sideview of the ornament so you can see the back...it's flat and not round like the front. Here's a link to the ornaments I purchased.

Candy Cane Lane Christmas Sampler Frame

I designed a sampler frame for Christmas (see it here), but I wasn't satisfied with the colors. I like to be symmetrical with the layer colors and I think that's what was bothering me about the other one. I kept some of the same elements, but switched to the Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper for my redesign. Leave me a comment and tell me which one you like best!

I am cutting cardstock and preparing for my class tonight. If you live in Central Illinois and want to join us, call me to reserve your seat!

It's hard to see the sparkle in this photo, but I used glimmer paper and Clear Wink of Stella to add sparkle to most of the squares.

Demonstrator Christmas Party Gift Exchange

I love the flexibility that I have as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator to be here when my family needs me. Last week was one of those weeks! Only one of my four kids went to school all week and the other three were each home 1-2 days with fever, vomiting, or an extreme head cold. Needless to say, I was looking forward to our Demonstrator Team Christmas party in Rochester yesterday. The roads were nasty as we got our first snow of the year and it took longer than usual to get there. In fact, I think Margo and I spent more time in the car than we did at the party! But it was worth the drive to spend time with our friends!

We had a potluck and stamped some projects using new products from the Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration book and did our annual gift exchange. This is my favorite part! I love seeing the handmade gifts that everyone makes. We draw numbers and then it's your turn, you can steal a gift or open a new one.

I loved this jar that Alison made and snapped a pic of two more that she brought to display. How lucky for me -- she let me take one home! I picked the gorgeous blue one! The snowflake is white vinyl die cut with the Star of Light thinlits.
Debbie created this fun bank with vinyl words (all Stampin' Up-related) as a fun reminder of all the fun things to save your pennies for. Margo create the festive card on the front of the gift bag.

Cindy's gift was a Stampin' Spritzer holder. She included a couple spritzers (pictured here behind the cardstock holder. Check out this tutorial for UK Demonstrator Pootles (Sam Donald) to make one at home.
My gift was the Christmas Sampler I posted yesterday. See it here.

I re-designed a new Christmas Sampler with Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper from the Holiday Catalog for my class tomorrow. I'll post a picture later today!
