Creative Blog Hop: Four Feathers Moonlight Card

In the midst of my Week of Giving posts, I almost forgot it's my turn on the Creative Blog Hop! Many thanks to my friend Laura Borchert for inviting me to participate!

The card I have to share today uses the Four Feathers stamp set from the Holiday Catalog. I designed this card for my Stamp of the Month Club November series, but switched out this design for another.

I think this card and the Four Feathers cards I created for my Stamp of the Month Club last month is a perfect representation of my style and my creative process! As part of the blog hop, I get to answer a few questions about just that!

1.  What are you working on?

A little bit of everything! The kids and I are making 12 days of Christmas gifts and packaging for their teachers. I am in the middle of my 2nd Sketch Book with 12 new sketches and 24 cards. I had hoped to make more progress over the holiday weekend, but I ran out of time. My other big project is MDS designs for my 2015 desktop calendar gift.

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre?

My style is clean and simple. I don't usually get fussy with my designs. Less is more. And my goal when I take on a more complicated project is to find a way to make it simple and share those simple instructions with video and printable tutorials.

3.  Why do you create what you do?

I have always loved crafting. As a child, I had a small stamp collect. I used to emboss over the toaster! I was so happy to find Stampin' Up!. I find stamping to be therapuetic. I love making cards because they are quick (as compared to a longer project like a scrapbook) and cards are very easy to share and send. I love to think about making my friends and family smile when they open my handmade card.

4.  How does your creative process work?

I like to start with a sketch or a color combination...something to inspire me! Then I choose a stamp set and coordinating accessories and start inking things up. My style may be clean and simple, but I still tweak and fuss over little details until it's just right. And most of the time, the cards turns out way different than I had planned!

Now that you've gotten to know a little more about my creative process, it's time for me to tag two friends to participate in this Creative Blog Hop. They both will be posting for the Creative Blog Hop next week on Monday, December 8th.
  • Susan La Croix -- my mother and my first recruit! We live a couple states away, so we don't get to stamp together as often as we'd like, but we Skype to show off our latest creations.
  • Alison Stachera -- one of my downline and a faithful blogger. I love Alison's creative mind! She's always coming up with something unique and fabulous.
